Trestleboard

June 8, 2010

Greetings to all the Cronies,

The next scheduled meeting of the Club will be held on Tuesday June 8th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Westwood Masonic Apartments, 655 High Street, Westwood, MA to hear the reports and transact any such business as shall come before the Club.

From the Degree Team Manager:

We have completed our winter/spring season with a very successful 3rd degree at Satuit Lodge in Scituate where again we had 2 pipers, a drummer & all chairs filled. Presently we have only one outing scheduled for the fall which is an installation at Norumbega Lodge on Sat, Sept 25 which will be attended by the Grand Master. I expect that between now & August we will be getting more requests.

During the summer I will be phasing out as Degree Team Manager. Cronie Jeff Jarvis has graciously agreed to take over. Please give Jeff your full support during this transition. Jeff has set up a special email address "kilwinningdegreeteam@verizon.net".  You may start directing inquiries his way effective immediately. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during my tenure as Manager.

It was certainly a pleasure to work with you all as we carry on the proud tradition of the Club. I will be looking forward to helping out wherever needed at our future outings.

Yours Aye,

Jim Logan

Don’t forget to invite the ladies to the June meeting and bring a food dish to share. Call Ed to coordinate food.

The President's message for June

 GREETINGS CRONIES,

I am truly sorry that I could not be at the May meeting of the Kilwinning Club. It was my fifty second  fifty, wedding anniversary, Claire is truly a saint for putting up with me all these years.

This will be the last meeting of the club until September. I hope all the cronies and their families have a great summer.  I will see you all at the June meeting of the club.  At the May meeting we decided to invite the ladies to meet with us after the meeting.  Please bring a food dish to share.

Yours aye,

Ed Shockley

For those of you who receive this notice by snail mail and have recently obtained e-mail capability or have changed your e-mail address, please let the secretary know. I have had a couple e-mail addresses that wouldn’t go through.

Club Pins

Club pins are now available for $2.00 each to members.

We will be giving these out to brothers that the club raises or installs at our outings.

If you would like to have one, please come out to one of the meetings or an outing of the club and they will be made available. We can’t mail them because it would cost too much to package them and pay the postage. Take a look at the article about the club in the Trowel and you’ll see the pin..

If you have been or will be given an application at any time to investigate, please have it back to the secretary before the meeting, thanks.

Distressed worthy brothers

Cronie Donald Oakes (J. T. Heard Lodge) has had some setbacks in his health lately. Cronie Arthur McIntyre had some recent surgery. Please keep them both in your prayers.

Help!!!

Cronie Donald Oakes (J. T. Heard Lodge) has made several moves in the last year or two and I’ve tried to keep up with him, but the letters keep coming back. If anyone has a current address for him, please let me know.
